About
Adrián Romero Farías has a MA degree in Social Science, Politics and Communication from Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana Xochimilco (UAM-X) in México City.
Autodidact philosopher interested in the work of Baruch Spinoza, Friedrich Nietzsche, Gilles Deleuze, Félix Guattari, Gregory Bateson, Michel Foucault and Pierre Bourdieu, his current academic research is about the schizoanalytic aspects of virtual communities, i.e. taking AA self-help group symbolic interaction and addictive patterns as an anthropological model. His framework includes a conceptual outline related to 'online' communities that implies a theoretical posture through which the opposition between real life and virtual life, e.g. the outside/inside symbolic divide of the group, is meant to be dissolved.
